What happens to the details you give us when you send an enquiry, book a table or simply look around the site. Written to be read, not to be got past.

Who is responsible for your data
The pub is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are the people to come to about it.

What we collect, and when
We collect very little, and only when you hand it over. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up, and no analytics or advertising tracking on this site.
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, your email address, your phone number if you want to give one, and your message. Nothing else is collected from that form, and nothing about you is added to it behind the scenes.
Your submission is emailed straight to the pub. There is no database behind this site and our website provider does not keep a copy. The form service does hold the submission in its own dashboard, which is covered below.
When you book a table
The booking widget on the Eat & Drink page is run by Avenista. Whatever you type into it goes to Avenista, who provide the booking service to us under our own agreement with them. It will not load, and Avenista is not contacted at all, until you allow booking-widget cookies.
When you simply visit
Our host keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site, including IP addresses, for around 30 days. That is ordinary server housekeeping, not something we look at or link to you.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each thing we do with your information. Ours are these.

We do not use enquiry details for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not pass your details to anyone for their own purposes.
Who else handles it
Three other organisations are involved, each in a specific way.
Our website provider
AIntelligent Technologies Ltd (company number 16284893, 17 Chapel Street, Glossop, England SK13 8AT) builds and looks after this website on our instructions, as our processor. They do not use anything you send for their own purposes, and they do not store your enquiry.
Our host, and where your data goes
Netlify hosts the site and carries the enquiry form on our provider’s behalf. Netlify is a company in the United States and serves this site from delivery nodes in Europe, so your enquiry is transferred outside the United Kingdom on its way to us.
That transfer is covered by the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, one of the safeguards UK law recognises for sending personal data abroad. Netlify keeps a copy of form submissions in its own dashboard, and around 30 days of technical logs that include IP addresses.
Sentry, for finding faults
If something goes wrong while you are using the site, a report of the fault is sent to Sentry so we can find and fix it. We have set this up to carry as little about you as possible: no IP address, cookies or browser headers are attached, and anything typed into a web address is removed before the report is sent. Nothing identifies you, and no report is linked to a person. Sentry runs in the European Union, so unlike our host it involves no transfer outside the United Kingdom and Europe.
Avenista, for table bookings
Table bookings are handled by Avenista under an agreement we hold with them directly. If you use the booking widget, your booking details are yours and theirs: read their own privacy notice for what they do with them. [link to Avenista’s own privacy notice to be added]
Google, for the map
The map showing where we are is embedded from Google. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. It does not load until you allow it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we might reasonably need them to answer a follow-up or to sort out a booking you made through us: [retention period to be confirmed by the pub]. After that they are deleted, both from the mailbox and from the form service’s dashboard.
Technical logs held by our host expire on their own after about 30 days. Your cookie choice sits in your own browser, and you can clear it whenever you like.
Your rights
You have rights over the information we hold about you. Email thelittlemillinn@gmail.com or call 01663 747678 and tell us what you would like. It is free, and we will reply within one month.

- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- To have it corrected
- Tell us if anything we hold about you is wrong or out of date.
- To have it deleted
- Ask us to erase it. We will, unless we need to keep it for a reason we can explain.
- To limit what we do with it
- Ask us to hold it but stop using it while a question about it is sorted out.
- To object
- Object to us relying on legitimate interests. Tell us why and we will stop, unless we have a compelling reason not to.
- To take it elsewhere
- Ask for a copy in a portable format, where that right applies.
- To withdraw consent
- Change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie preferences link at the foot of every page. Withdrawing does not undo what happened beforehand.
- To complain
- Raise it with us first if you can, and with the Information Commissioner if we do not put it right.
How to complain
Tell us first if you can. We would far rather fix something ourselves than have you chase it.

Changes to this notice
If what we do with your information changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change affects cookies, the banner will ask you again.
